Ondo state government has re-affirmed its commitment at
ensuring that the citizens of the state are given qualitative health care
service delivery. The Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju made this
known during the World Pharmacists’ Day Celebration 2012 organized by
pharmacitical society of Nigeria, Ondo branch which has its theme “Safe
medicines: A right of every Nigerian” which held at Babafunke Ajasin Auditorium,
Igbatoro Road, Akure on September 25, 2012.

LOCAL IMMUNIZATION DAYS (LIDS)
The most
effective strategy of protecting children from childhood killer diseases is
administration of vaccines to them. Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the governor of Ondo State made this
known at the flag off ceremony of the September 2012 round of Local
Immunization Days (LIDs) in the state.
He stated that the state has not recorded any case of the
wild polio virus since inception of his administration and promised not to
relent in his efforts to sustain the zero level.
FREE SCREENING FOR HYPERTENSION AND DIABETES
The present administration will not relent in its efforts
aimed at providing qualitative health
care delivery to the people of the state through its planned programmes.

ABIYE SAFE MOTHERHOOD PROGRAM A BENCHMARK FOR ALL AFRICAN COUNTRIES
Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, said the UN-Habitat Award conferred on him by the world body is an indication of the global acceptability of his administration’s urban renewal initiative in addition to the Abiye Safe Motherhood programme which is a now a benchmark for the African continent.

ONDO MOVES TO REDUCE DEATHS BY ACCIDENTS
Ondo government has inaugurated a scheme known as First Aid
Support Team (FAST) Network to train the people of the state on the proper way of
handling accidents victims. This, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju said the
scheme was being introduced to reduce the deaths resulting from accidents.
Already, 40 change agents selected across the states have
been trained on the skill and are expected to traverse the 18 local government areas
of the state to replicate the training among the people.

ONDO PREGNANT WOMEN GET SMART CARDS
Ondo State Government has inaugurated a smart card scheme
for pregnant women and also distributed 190 laptops to caregivers in the state. This is to enable them to have instant access to healthcare
services at any of the health facilities in the state.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju made
this known at a one-day workshop organized for Health workers on operating
ABIYE software in the state.
