MATERNAL DEATH: ODSG SEEKS PUBLIC, PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP


For adequate capturing of maternal death in Ondo state, there is a need for private-public partnership in the state.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju made the assertion during the sensitization of private health care workers on the need for reporting of maternal deaths held in Akure. Adeyanju said it is necessary to incorporate private health care providers to be able to have accurate data of maternal death in the state

COMMISSIONER WANTS EASY ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE


For Nigeria to develop, there must be easy access to quality health care for all its citizens.
Ondo state commissioner for health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, state this during the 2012 World Population Day, organised by the Ministry of Health Primary Health Care & Disease Control Department and titled ‘Universal Access to Reproductive Health Services.

The commissioner stated that Nigerian government must make it a point of duty to make good  quality health care accessible to the populace. He also stressed the need for the country to checkmate its population.

ONDO CELEBRATES WORLD BREASTFEEDING DAY



Nursing Mothers have been advised to embrace and comply with exclusive breastfeeding of their babies for the first six months after birth.
Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, the state Commissioner for Health, gave this advise during the celebration of the 2012 World Breastfeeding day in Akure.

He said the aim of the celebration is to ensure all mothers breastfeed their baby exclusively for six months as this would protect them from infections and diseases.
